Eve

Eve began her life in the Society for Creative Anachronism in the East Kingdom, Barony of Concordia of the Snows (capital district of New York). At the age of 13, Eve attended an SCA demonstration at her middle school for a spring event called 'Shakespeare Week'. That same week, she and her parents attended a dance practice and two weeks later she attended her first event-Wars of the Roses!

Demonstrations have always been a passion, since she was brought into the SCA this way. Eve began participating in demos within her first year in the SCA, and had many opportunities over the years to join in many demos ranging from dancing at a mall for the opening of the King Arthur movie (the one with Clive Owen), to summer camps, local Renaissance fairs and more. Working with newcomers and helping them begin their SCA journey has been a great joy!

Eve has played violin for many live music dance events, and has participated in many of the activities that make up the SCA: dance, music, calligraphy, fencing, clothing making, vocal heraldry, and leatherwork to name a few! She also enjoys learning about cosmetic and body adornment, and intends on putting together new classes in the future regarding the same.

In 2017, Eve and her husband moved to the Barony of the Cleftlands (Cleveland, Ohio) in the Middle Kingdom (aka MidRealm). In the MidRealm, Eve began to find her stride and was on a path of self-discovery. She began teaching more classes, took on Officer positions at the Baronial level, and was part of event staff. In 2019, Eve became an 'appren-tegé' to Dame Elizabethe Alles (OP, OL). In 2022 Eve became the Kingdom Social Media Officer and the North Oaken Regional Chatelaine. With her offices, Eve strives to promote inclusivity, diversity, and equity; as well as to make the SCA and the Middle Kingdom more approachable, understandable, and engaging.

-Outside of the SCA-

Eve graduated from the University at Albany with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and is also a licensed esthetician in the state of Ohio. She owns her own business, Nomad Girl Beauty. She is also an Internationally Certified Natural Henna Artist, and has been a henna artist since her early college years (nearly 15 years now!). She and her husband have three cats and a kitten, which add a lot of color to life! A short list of things Eve enjoys outside of the SCA: traveling, music, cooking, Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern food, Bollywood movies, learning languages, and learning about different cultures.

Shahzada al-Zahra

Shahzada al-Zahra (fka Shahzada Isfahani) is an Islamic Persian noblewoman from the city of Isfahan, the capital of the Safavid Persian Empire, during the time of Shah Abbas the Great.

Isfahan is entering its Golden Age of culture, architecture, and prestige. It was there that she learned of the court of the Mughal emperor, Abu'l-Fath Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar, called Akbar the Great. He has a great love of culture, of foreign peoples and lands, and surrounds himself with such in his Court. Shah Abbas has been trying to rekindle peace with the Mughals, and ambassadors and envoys go between the two capitals. Shahzada has gone with them and is currently at the Mughal court. Here she participates in the culture and arts, and has begun to adopt some Mughal fashion (especially jewelry) into her own. There are even Ottomans at court whom she has befriended and swaps clothing with, even though their empires are enemies. She is enjoying exploring the traditions and culture of this new land.

Shahzada enjoys the art and traditions of henna adornment and has welcomed many into the art through various henna classes.
